Radio Times: Tony is feeling guilty, and Brian braves the kitchen.

  • Pat and Tony go for a meal at The Bull, but poor Tony is subjected to some haranguing over Neil. Tony does his best to assure Pat that everything is fine where Neil is concerned, but Pat is still reeling from Susan’s tirade, so is hard to convince. And, of course, there is the hazelnut meringue to fret over, which she does with feeling.
  • PC Burns is drinking at The Bull with workmates, but has plenty of time to chat Fallon up. He might even buy a ticket for Loxfest if she is going to be in charge of the tea-tent.
  • In the new and extremely expensive kitchen, Brian is in a foul mood as he tries to cook a meal for Ruairi. He is unable to work any of the gadgets and something keeps bleeping at him. Ian arrives just in time, looking for Adam, and offers to cook instead, an offer which is very gratefully received.
  • It seems that Home Farm is not the only venue where gadgetry causes problems. At The Bull the TV refuses to work, just as the big match is about to begin. PC Burns saves the day, though, and happens to mention that he was once the lead singer in a tribute band; he would be perfect for the Midnight Walkers, thinks Fallon.
  • Neil comes to watch the match, and assures Tony that he is quite happy with the work he is doing at Bridge Farm, though as a pig man he is not prepared to order food or deal with the accounts. Tony accepts this, but Pat has other ideas, and poor Tony gets another earful from his wife. Tony should have asked Neil to be manager from the start and he should be offered proper money. Neil calls over to Tony to say the match is starting, but Pat and Tony are not staying; they have things to discuss.
  • The phantom Home Farm bleeping proves to be the smoke alarm, which Adam and Ian fix. Ian remarks that they scarcely see each other, so Adam agrees to a night in together later in the week.
