Jamie’s anxieties are assuaged; Hayley’s are just beginning.
Radio Times: Kathy is concerned. Meanwhile, Kate has got everything sorted.
Characters: Hayley, Jamie, Kate, Kathy, Kenton, Roy, Usha- What’s it like for Marty? That’s what is disturbing Jamie, along with how he can face him after Friday. Kenton has called to offer an extra lunchtime shift; Kathy encourages him to go and spend some time with Kenton and Jolene.
- Roy has an appointment with Phoebe’s headmistress about her year in South Africa; Kate wants to talk to them too: she is leaving on Friday.
- Worried about Jamie, Kathy consults Usha. If the boys plead guilty, as they say they are going to do, then for Jamie that will be the end of it; he will not have to appear in court.
- Kenton has a task for Jamie, as a secret agent. He wants to enthuse Freda about some new and more exciting menus, so Jamie is to drop hints about the food he likes. Maybe he could get Natalie in on the act; there will be a free meal at Jaxx for them both. Kenton praises the way Jamie handled things last week; he is proud of him and he is sure Sid would be too. Kathy calls in at The Bull to report her meeting with Usha. Jamie is relieved and appreciative – and he says so.
- There’s good news and bad news, the latter being that there is no guaranteed place for Phoebe at Borchester Green when she comes back. However, the headmistress felt it would be a great experience for Phoebe – life changing; she has provided an outline of the curriculum that Phoebe would have been following during the year, to pass on to her new school. Kate brings forms from the school for Roy and Hayley to complete. She will book a flight for 8th September. Simple! Hayley fears she will not relax until Phoebe is back safe and sound. She hopes they are doing the right thing.
