Characters: , , , , ,
  • Brian complains about Kate to Jennifer. Kate with a serious face asks if it is convenient to have talk, then says never mind. Brian wants to know what this is about. Jenny has no idea. Jennifer is going to Mungo’s party but Brian must beg off, much as he would love to attend a rowdy one year old’s party, he jokes.
  • Jill drops by to ask Kenton to Pip’s leaving dinner. Jolene asks Jill to leave it to her to ask Kenton. When Kenton turns up, Jill reluctantly takes a quick leave.
  • Brian has been sniffing around about the dairy kerfuffle and hears that Rob has left. Brian notes that Charlie and Rob never were able to work as a team. Both are strong-minded but only one can be boss. Rather like you and Adam, then, Jennifer observes archly.
  • David and Jill meet to inspect the hen house. David is happy of the chance to discuss something with Jill.
  • Kenton shouted at Jolene when she broached the farewell meal. He has come back with apologies on his tongue for the way he treated her. Kenton also lays out his family grudges and Jolene tries to give him confidence. Kenton won’t hear of it; he has ruined Jolene’s life and dragged her down to his level. His despair and self-loathing make him inconsolable.
  • Jill understands Heather’s needs immediately and she is supportive. She appreciates that David is worried about where she will go but she has plenty of places to choose. Jill declares that she will miss Brookfield but Heather must come. Jill will be fine.
