  • Matt is pleased with the outcome of their meetings. The paper mill scheme looks like it’s all go. They are both really excited. And, of course, dinner at The Bull is the perfect celebration for a major business deal accompanied with Bull champagne. Lilian takes a call and it’s obviously from Paul. While she is out of the room Matt says how great everything is and how things are on the up. Once she’s finished her call, he tells her they are such a great team and Lilian tells him that when things are like this she is glad they’ve made it this far.
  • Alice is still whining about her job. She thought she would get more responsibility but having good money, a short commute etc isn’t enough for her. But she says she is still happy in Ambridge…. Christopher is cross later – if Alice is that unhappy she should be able to talk about it. She finally admits that a job in Vancouver has come up and she says she was just daydreaming about it. It’s a great job but it’s a shame it’s in Canada. She admits in an ideal world she would apply but she knows it can’t happen.
  • Jim has been interviewing a wood turner for his next article. He’s done vacuous trivia for Borchester Life – the wood turner’s first kiss, that he shared a carriage with Anthea Turner. It doesn’t look as if Daniel’s gap year plans for an internship in the US aren’t going to pan out. He isn’t keen on Jim’s idea of an architectural dig though.
