• Marjorie’s in the bank and is having another ditzy spell – she seems to have lost £24 from the poppy appeal. Kathy lends a hand and they eventually trace it to Marjorie mis-reading some zeroes for eights and the matter is solved. Kathy tactfully suggests that she sometimes forgets when an eye-test is due.
• More bad news from the Laurels – Auntie Pru, lost without Tom, has died too. The family are shocked at the proximity to Tom but, a silver lining, Janet has suggested a double funeral which everyone agrees that they would have wanted. Chris suggests a horse-drawn hearse, again to approval. Jill has offers of help for all with the food, but wants to do it all herself as her way of coping and paying respects.
