Mike is worried about his daughter. Pat is worried about her daughter.
Radio Times: Mike’s concerned, and Pat is wrong-footed.
Characters: Brenda, Mike, Pat, Rob, Tony, Vicky- While Vicky coos over Bethany, Mike is becoming increasingly anxious over Brenda’s whereabouts. She left early this morning without a word to anyone and is not replying to messages.
- Pat is glad the week is over, what with the sale of the last cow and the dinner party, but when she sees Rob’s car approaching she manages another barbed comment. Rob has brought her flowers, and she does at least have the grace to accept them. Tony invites Rob in for tea, and suggests they go to see the wetland system. Pat declines the offer to accompany them.
- Vicky witters on about Nic’s choice of names for her baby and the swishing event, but Mike is in no mood to listen, especially as Jennifer has coerced him into donating a raffle prize. But then Brenda rings; she is in London, but on the way home. Then her phone goes dead.
- Rob admires a dragonfly, and is interested to hear what birds and butterflies can be seen there. He loves the peacefulness of it all. After he leaves, Pat has another bitch about his wife, but Tony tells her to stop; Helen has few friends and they must not alienate Rob. Pat is well aware of Helen’s isolation, and says she is looking out for her.
- Brenda returns, and tells an astounded Mike and Vicky about the offer she has had from Matt. She needs to keep it secret, because of whatever is going on between Matt and Lilian, so asks them to tell anyone who asks that she is travelling in Europe with a friend from University, Sian. Mike is concerned when he learns she is off to Russia; it is all happening too fast. He just hopes it will not be anything dodgy.
