One of the routes for the prospective new road goes right through Brookfield.
Radio Times: There is a shock for David and Ruth, and Elizabeth braces herself.
Characters: David, Elizabeth, Lynda, Roy, Ruth, Shula- Shula is trying to convince Elizabeth to go to the Council meeting but she says she is too busy. They are selling a fair amount of wine though Roy isn’t so convinced. Elizabeth sounds more doubtful about Loxfest, even though she’s agreed to the camping. Shula is astonished.
- Lynda is also determined to get answers from Borchester Council. She has been trying to work out where the planners are most likely to want to put the road. Her idea is that the route is most likely to be through Penny Hassett rather than Ambridge but Lynda wants it stopped, come what may.
- Elizabeth tells Roy that she really doesn’t think she can face the camping. She hated it as a brownie. She wonders if they can get a day ticket instead. But Roy borrows Hayley’s battery powered hair tongs and convinces her to give it a go.
- Shula reports that Peggy is very upset. She seems to have fallen out with Tony. She isn’t sure why but it must be to do with Tom. Meanwhile Lynda isn’t impressed with the Council publicity. They can’t even see Ambridge on the map. When they finally get shown them, Penny Hassett is the nearest, then the next one goes through Ambridge and right through Brookfield. Ruth, of course, becomes hysterical.
