Pat reports Tom as a missing person. Bridge Farm is cleared of TB.

Radio Times: PC Burns intervenes, and David gives Adam a hand.

Characters: , , , , ,
  • Too late! Adam was hoping to talk Pip into some nocturnal field work but she has already gone back to Yorkshire. However, Adam’s visit to Brookfield has not been in vain because David volunteers to do an evening shift; he draws the line at a night shift.
  • Tony has brought the day’s deliveries to the shop because he fears that Pat is not fit to drive. Why can’t Tom realise what he is doing to his mother?
  • Meanwhile Pat is receiving a visit from the ubiquitous PC Burns, to whom she had spoken yesterday at the May Day festivity. He had not appreciated the nature of her problem but takes down all the details to file a missing person report. He suggests using Facebook and Twitter, an idea that Pat seizes upon. When Tony bursts in on the meeting he scotches the idea immediately: he has been telling callers that Tom will be back from honeymoon next week; if they think he is not coming back they may assume the business is folding and cancel their orders.
  • David does the promised shift and offers to do another: since Jill moved back to Brookfield there seem to be more hours in the day. He doesn’t do much field work these days and he rather enjoyed it, especially using Adam’s big tractor.
  • Alistair is a welcome visitor at Bridge Farm: he brings news that the cow they lost recently did not have TB, so movement restrictions will be lifted forthwith. Tony announces that he will take great pleasure in telling Tom when he comes back. If he comes back, retorts Pat.
