Pip is too busy for lunch. Kenton is too proud to accept help.

Radio Times: There’s an important decision to be made, and Fallon is ready for change.

  • Pip helps Rex round up some errant geese. Toby is better at sales, says his brother, and he is in Rugby training for the new season. Pip asks if Rex thinks she did the right thing walking out on Websters. Apparently he does. It takes guts to change your mind. Pip shows Rex where the turnips will be shown, and treats him to a lecture on gimmers, hogs, ewes and other ovine species. For this she is invited to lunch at the caravan. Meanwhile Rex is anxiously awaiting a call from a prospective customer.
  • At The Bull, Fallon and Jolene discuss Fallon’s new home – she and PC Burns have, of course, secured the tenancy of Woodbine Cottage. They laugh at Dylan Nells’ review of the opera. Kenton arrives and fails to share the fun. Fallon makes herself scarce so that Jolene can reveal the family’s generous offer to save the pub.
  • Rex cooks sausages, and Pip seems a trifle put out to hear that Toby will not be there, though he will come to bring the geese in later. But she is forced to reject the sausage Rex has cooked when David texts to say that the hard-core she ordered has arrived. What a busy girl she is.
  • When he hears of the family’s offer, Kenton explodes in anger, accusing Jolene of going behind his back, but she retorts with the well-known Ambridge line I Had No Choice. Kenton is even more furious when he learns that Jill has contributed. That is real humiliation. Jolene stands her ground; they can’t afford to be proud. The offer will get them out of trouble, so is it Yes or No?
