Rex fires Toby – and blacks his eye.
Radio Times: Rex delivers a final blow, and Jazzer muscles in.
Characters: Jazzer, Josh, Kirsty, Pip, Rex, Roy, Toby- When it comes to a dating profile, Roy has decided he is in the wrong job. Dating was a nice idea but it’s not for him. Kirsty is not happy about him wasting her time, so he is to get on with it; they will sort out his profile at lunchtime. Phoebe suggested it in the first place.
- There’s trouble at Hollowtree. They have run out of feed; there’s not even for today. Toby should have bought more. Josh asserts that they can’t go on like this: both he and Rex have been carrying Toby for too long. Don’t worry: Rex has already dealt with it.
- The lunchtime session to pick the best pictures and complete Roy’s profile is not going well. Jazzer interrupts but is not helping. In the end Jazzer presses the button and, for better or worse, the deed is done: Roy is out there.
- Toby turns up in a rage seeking an explanation for Rex’s text. Josh wisely leaves them to it. What part of “you’re fired” does Toby not understand? The confrontation descends into violence.
- Jazzer does a sift of Roy’s early responses. He has been out with several of them already. Roy is not impressed when Tracy Horrobin pops up on his screen.
- Pip administers first aid to Toby’s eye. She can’t believe it of Rex. They have got to make it up. Why? They are not going to be working together any more. Rex has no vision (actually, right now, it’s Toby who lacks vision); he will still be mucking out poultry when he is 50. Pip points out that she will still be mucking out cows. Toby reckons he will find something; he will prove to her and her gran that he is not a total waster.
