Rob has plans for Helen’s inheritance. Lynda has plans for a new project. Neil has plans for an exotic holiday. Ed has plans to win back George’s affection.
Radio Times: Ed feels guilty, and things seem to be progressing well for Neil.
Characters: Ed, Emma, Helen, Lynda, Neil, Rob- Neil and Susan have planned a holiday in St Lucia if Susan can find cover at the Post Office. Ed, Jazzer and Mike will see to Neil’s pigs, though Ed is very envious.
- Helen goes to the mega-dairy to wait for Rob before they have lunch at The Bull to celebrate her inheritance, but Rob has problems with his work force and then with some machinery, so they will have to celebrate on a cheese sandwich and coffee. Helen claims to be concerned about her parents’ being quiet since Peggy’s news broke, but she wants to go round to Peggy’s to thank Peggy in person for leaving her The Lodge, so Rob says he will come along as well since they have now gone public about their relationship. He also wants Helen to rent The Lodge out when it becomes hers, to safeguard Henry’s financial future. Helen can see this only as further evidence of his sweetness towards her and Henry.
- Lynda has a new project to enthuse Ambridge about; the WW1 archive. She asks Neil to help, though he would prefer it to be a local rather than part of a national project. In true Dibley style the two parish councillors appear to confuse the Parish Council with the Parochial Church Council; the parish Council is apparently discussing a new window for the church paid from Jack’s bequest. Surely a matter for the Parochial Church Council?
- Emma is somewhat lacking in goodwill as she rounds on Ed for bringing mud into the house as he attempts to repair his leaky boots. Ed is still angry that they have let Holly stay with Will. It is playing straight into his hands. Emma is concerned at the state of Ed’s clothes. Maybe Susan’s gift could buy him some more. Ed wants to spend it on a treat for George.
- Neil arrives with the news that Susan has found cover, so if the offer is still available, they are off to St Lucia. But he too gets an earful from Emma about mud.
