  • There’s another problem at Ambridge Organics; although Rob is quick to assume that it is due to failure by Kirsty, actually Helen has forgotten an important order. She needs to wait for an emergency delivery. So will Rob collect Henry, give him his tea and put him to bed. Rob loves spending time with Henry, so that’s no problem. What might be a problem is that Charlie isn’t away today; he is not in the best of moods anyway, having made some crisp phone calls to The Echo and to his PR company.
  • The afore-mentioned Charlie bumps into David, who thanks him for seeing his mother. They have a little spat about The Echo coverage, each taking a predictable line. Honours are about even.
  • Adam passes on to Brian the leaflets he picked up at the show. He reports that Charlie was very thought-provoking, suggesting that Adam should really do something with the contracting. The Brookfield contract is little more than mowing their lawn. Adam could be servicing a wide area. Why is he suggesting this to Adam rather that Debbie, who is managing it remotely.
  • For a man who has, so his fiancée believes, told his boss that ‘family comes first’, slipping off early to collect Henry shouldn’t be a problem. Rob grovels, insisting that it is absolutely necessary and that he will not make a habit of it. When Helen eventually gets home, her boys are into a bedtime story and Henry does not want Helen to take over and finish it. Rob points out the obvious: if Helen wants to spend more time with him and Henry, she needs more help at work.
