The Ambridge Games are a triumph; Lynda rescues Kenton.

Radio Times: It is the day of the Ambridge Community Games, but who is in the running for a medal?

Characters: , , , , , ,
  • Adam seems to have gone to ground; he’s not talking to Brian or Debbie, both of whom are determined to go ahead without him. Jennifer worries that he will leave the farm.
  • All Lynda’s hours of creative dialogue are to be wasted, after ‘irreconcilable differences’ not to mention the cast being thrown out of The Bull. But the Community Games begin to the sound of Kenton on the PA and starting with ‘dunk the vicar’.
  • As they look at the cultural exhibits, Jennifer persists in trying to get Brian to talk to Adam. Meanwhile the torch arrives and the games begin. The sleeping bag race generates intense excitement. Kenton has forgotten to organise the medal ceremony but Lynda comes to his rescue with help from Jennifer and some delays introduced by Kenton – she gets a medal for most sportsmanlike behaviour for her trouble.
