• Tony’s suddenly on better terms with the pipeline contractors … indeed, he’s haggled his way to a fat brown envelope filled with about £250 (not the £2000 that the grapevine, in the shape of Eddie, later claims!) His boost doesn’t last for long though, before the end of the day he’s got problems with the casual workers, Helen’s going to be gone for a few more weeks, Tommy’s feeling certain he’s going to fail his theory test, and he’s generally tired and sore and harvesting not started yet!
• Brookfield’s little better, David’s still not happy with the fact that Phil is continually switching the fan off because it’s disturbing the B&B guests …. although he changes his tune when Jill tells him that Phil’s turning it off for himself as he’s so tired at nights.
