Characters: Alistair, Betty, Clarrie, Joe, Richard, Shula, Susan
- Joe’s struggling with the silaging, although it’s unclear whether it’s old-age or a troubled mind that’s causing the problems. He’s still worried that Clarrie will ring up to chase the tickets, his latest ruse is that the phone bill will be too expensive. Clarrie’s too good-natured to see through him.
- Richard succeeds in giving Daniel his medication, for which Shula is very grateful. He prescribes her some rest, but she’s still not happy with the idea of taking a weekend away.
- It’s Susan’s first day in the shop and Betty appreciates the help. More changes as, with Kate absent, there’s fresh air to breathe not “that horrible pong”.
- Joe’s really going for it over the tickets, he spins Alistair a yarn that, still not having told him which match they’re for, they also come with a parking space and hospitality! Alistair ups his offer to £550 for the pair when Joe mentions that maybe the Doctor is better able to make a substantial bid ….
