Characters: Brian, Debbie, Hayley, Jennifer, Tommy, Tony
- The general concensus is that Bert has adopted his normal Wittgenstein-like approach with the cricket pitch rota – why have something simple when you can have something incredibly complicated?
- Tony asks Hayley to ask Tommy about his cricket feelings because he’s not talking to his father. It seems that he’s feeling bad for John, who had such a good run in previous years. Hayley convinces him that that’s silly, that they’re all remembering John, but his getting to the final is something that John would have been proud of.
- Brian’s looking forward to next week’s hearing about Sammy’s cottage, although the Aldridge women are ribbing him slightly. Jennifer also suggets that immortality and good PR might beckon if they offer to host the village’s millenium wood.
