• Brian’s in a quandry over Kate, he’s still annoyed at her perceived lack of responsibility and, in particular, Roy’s rôle and whether the Tuckers know – although Jennifer thinks that that responsibility is Kate’s alone.
• Brookfield’s milk figures are not good (they could be as much as £25.000 down on the previous year’s) and Ruth brings up the possibility of expanding the dairy herd again, although this time she will be acting as a partner David doesn’t expect Phil to be any more enthusiastic than he was last time.
• Mike’s moaning – apparently Roy’s disappeared for a few days and he doesn’t know why although when he’s in The Bull he bumps into Jennifer and Brian and, much to her disappointment, Brian lets him into the secret of his impending grandfatherhood. Needless to say Mike is flabbergasted.
