George and William are loitering around in the bushes, George wants William to spy on Jack as he does some of George’s duties. (It seems that while he’s not great, he’s coping.) They’re seen by Caroline and Shula, although George has scuttled off.
Shula’s met with Mr Rodway and he’s still unhappy with her actions and she’s concerned at David’s future too.
The Grundys have a stormy meeting with Graham Rider who tells them that while they’ve won the first battle the war is far from over, the estate’s solicitors say that a claim for damages is still tenable. Joe is furious and doesn’t seem to understand that the tribunal was seperate.
Caroline’s latest blind date is with Graham Rider! They’re both very embarrassed and would prefer to keep things secret. They briefly touch on Ambridge life but agree to leave that subject for the sake of the peace of the meal.
A very drunk Joe and a slightly less drunk and very embarrassed Eddie crash around to Shula’s after closing. They present her with a bottle of Champagne and Joe’s gets quite poetic in his praise for her.
