• Social services are, apparently, grateful for the advance notice of Tom’s condition and will try to arrange something.
• David and Ruth take Jill and Phil out to lunch (banning farming talk into the bargain) to thank them for their help with Josh and in between doubling up in pain from his non- replaced hip and promising to slow done once Ruth’s back at work, Phil is enjoying being a grandfather again.
• The kids discus Jill and Phil’s impending ruby wedding anniversary and decide that, instead of seperate gifts, they should club together to try and bring Kenton back – he’s currently sailing off the coast of Queensland! They’re not sure if he will return, but twin Shula will have the best chance of convincing him.
• George “suspicious” Barford is having problems with poachers and is still of the opinion that Clive “no evidence” Horrobin could be involved in every minor crime in the district. He’s also not so sure that he’ll be able to “ho-ho-ho” his way through being Santa in Peggy’s proposed Victorian Christmas (suggested as a diversion from the normal Snell pantomime ….)
