  • The impending by-pass rally is causing divisions, Mike’s not keen on Brenda wanting to attend and Roy is fed up with playing second fiddle to preparations for a protest he can’t support, as Kate has a house full of organisers.
  • Ruth and David are taking Jill and Phil out for lunch tomorrow, although Jill’s not sure they can all spare the time. David’s asked Mike to do the milking, as a one-off, and while he’s happy for the cash he’s being a little ray of sunshine over the closure of the shop.
  • Jill thinks that they should talk to social services about getting Tom onto a waiting list for The Laurels, Phil’s sorry to see this development – and is starting to consider slowing down himself.
