• Richard’s becoming a bit of a property bore, taking a lot of trouble over weighing up the pros and cons of buying the vicarage.
• Jennifer invites Richard and Usha (and Ruth and Pip) around to Home Farm to swim. Debbie appreciates everyone’s concern and is throwing herself into her work. Usha’s reminds her that Simon’s discharge was conditional and that, in his line, a record will affect him.
• David presents his case for buying the estate land to Phil. While Phil agrees that today’s market support the conclusion that the prospective profit will cover the cost of borrowing the money, he’s not so sure that tomorrow’s market will be so accomodating. David’s sure that the risk is worth it and is worried that they’ll lose their chance and someone else will buy the land instead.
