• Tommy’s another one whose subscription to the John fan club has lapsed – he had to do the milking because Tony was taking the pigs to the abatoir.
• Pat’s been interviewing for the jobs created by the dairy extension, three people have been selected, Brenda Tucker, Tracy Horrobin and an anonymous retired teacher.
• Jennifer’s searching out ingredients for the puddings, Ambridge’s contribution to the harvest supper – fruit roulade – she’s after creme fraiche from Pat and some of Clarrie’s clotted cream and all the blackberries Mike has.
• Brenda’s planning on helping with the playschool too, Mike’s happy with his hard working daughter – although he starts to fume when he finds out that, after letting him go with the closure of the shop, Bridge Farm will be employing his daughter. This is compounded by her desire to go on the by-pass rally – he really is not keen to let that happen.
