John’s van is at the garage, so he’s been using Hayley’s car to transport pig feed, he’s got errands to run during the afternoon and is meeting Roy in Felpersham later, and as Hayley has an afternoon off she finally relents to lending him the car. It means that she will have to walk to a babysitting appointment that evening, too.
George is finding his recouperation not what it could be. Physically he’s progressing well, but Chris feels as though she’s living with a different person. The village is awash with rumours about Eddie’s involvement, but there’s a concensus developing that the venison might have been dodgy (and _everyone_, including Lower Loxley, seems to have partaken!) but he wouldn’t have been involved in the beating.
John’s on his way back from Felpersham although far from meeting Roy, he drops in on Sharon. Kylie’s at a friend’s and she doesn’t fancy staying around Donna, who’s getting a little annoyed at having lodgers. After persuading John to lend her more money to cover some bills, they head out for the evening. Rather than returning to Donna’s they end up at April Cottage but Hayley’s babysitting ends rather prematurely and panic ensues as they hear a key in the lock.
