Characters: Caroline, Clarrie, Hayley, John, Larry, Lizzie, Lynda
- Caroline was due to have lunch with Larry, but an appointment means otherwise. Earlier she was promising very firm action when telling Lizzie her woes.
- “We” are converting the cottage although John’s colour-blind and tasteless and Hayley’s doing the creativity. Larry pays a visit and invites them to Nelson’s to replace his now lost lunch date and Hayley takes him up on it.
- Clarrie is disappointed and frustrated – still no money – she threatened no work and they threatened to charge her to collect the materials! The prospect of no money ever is now starting to dawn and Caroline recomends to finish and do no more. And they’ve still no farming witness.
- Larry gives Hayley the impression that he’s “Seeing” Caroline and she’s slightly surprised at classy, aristocratic Caroline. Although Lizzie let slip that, to Caroline, it was slightly more than a broken lunch-date.
- Tony’s getting a growing number of complaints about the quality of the yoghurt.
- Larry comes by Grey Gables to say something to Caroline that needed saying, that there’s someone else and they can’t see each other anymore. He’s truly sorry. Caroline is incredulous; “I’ve just been dumped – by Laurence Lovell!”
