Characters: Betty, Hayley, Jack, Pat, Roy, Tommy, Tony
- Tommy’s in a good mood, Richard’s away so he’s in the cricket team this weekend, he’s actually going in to college today and the pigs are coming on well; Eric is to serve another of the sows.
- Pat’s not so good though, while life goes on she’s starting to get a little fed up with everyone being so compassionate toward her and seeing everything as therapy. She feels bad about complaining, but the strain is showing.
- The shop, at Kate’s suggestion, is carrying “Traveller Handicraft” which includes jewellry and tiny pairs of scales …
- Clarrie’s very happy because a French friend has secured some World Cup tickets for the boys.
- Tony inadvertantly tells Jack the Bentley is at the stables – not in the garage. Jack must have spoken to Chris because he hatches an evil plan. He asks Roy for some advice, about what to do with a hypothetical employee who borrows something valuable and then damages it. Roy’s unequivocal, Jack should sack this employee. Only at that point Hayley arrives and asks Roy to help with her broken down wreck and Jack mentions the coincidence that they were just talking about a damaged car. The penny drops and Roy doesn’t see the funny side!
