Characters: David, Hayley, John, Roy, Ruth, Shula
- Hayley’s looking forward to the coming weekend and the surprise trip to Birmingham (she even invites David and Ruth – who decline).
- Ruth is otherwise occupied with problems with the herd, the cow’s foot that David didn’t look at is still a bone of contention. It gets worse when it appears that that cow’s milk, which should have been ditched due to the anti-biotics it was on, was sent off – the day that Ruth was at the conference and David was milking.
- Shula’s got a meeting with Mr Rodway and is disappointed with Simon’s attitude to her plan.
- Hayley is acting too strangely for John, who is suspicious that something is up. With the plan of getting his clothes size (to buy glad-rags for when they’re in Brum), Hayley succeeds in bringing Whitehall farce to Ambridge and getting John suspicious of her and Roy …. although she leads him on admirably too …..
- Shula’s meeting with Mr Rodway did not go well, she’s been moved sideways after an ultimatum from Simon threatening to remove his business if she wasn’t removed from the estate’s account. She’s been replaced by Graham Rider.
