• Bad news at Grange Farm after James Miller calls to say that the tribunal date has been set for 1 April – but tribunal panel wants to visit next Tuesday, amongst their number will be a county court judge, representatives from the CLA and the NFU and, for the estate, Graham Rider. Joe preaches doom and gloom over the cows.
• Lambing is a problem at Brookfield – they’ll be short staffed, David offers Eddie work despite Simon’s touchiness on the issue.
• The Hayley situation is not looking good for John’s plan. He’s sent no card, nor even rung and she’s very morose. Eventually Kate pleads for her not to to be left me alone with Roy because she fears he’ll propose! She relents and goes to Brum with them.
• The surprise works a charm – and Kate and Roy were left with a Balti after Hayley dissolved at the sight of John. John admits to being frantic at the thought it wouldn’t work. As they go all schmatlzy over each other, John gives what seems as though it might have been a back-handed proposal …..
