Characters: Clarrie, Hayley, Neil, Pat, Roy, Tommy, Tony
- The PYO is in full swing and Roy is helping out, but Tony’s short-handed and wants Neil to help at Bridge Farm, only Neil doesn’t want to annoy Mike any further and initially declines, but then offers Roy time and a half to stay (despite an essay to do – hasn’t he got first year exams?) and Tony gets Tommy along, but this can’t continue ….
- Clarrie’s having trouble justifying to herself the expense of staying away a little longer than originally planned, but Pat assauges the guilt with the offer of a few more hours.
- Pat’s worries are about John’s stall at the Royal, she forgets to cancel it but when Hayley finds out she wants to take it on, she’s convinced that direct marketing is the ideal way to tap into the huge organic market – only she’s got just three weeks to get things sorted, which is normally long enough in the Ambridge time-line.
- Roy, through a mixture of grovelling and baiting, manages to convince Tommy that the ailing, aging Ambridge cricket team needs him back.
