Daniel is still poorly and there is still no news about the cause. The pressure is telling on Shula but she is quite certain that she does not want Josh’s christening or her father’s party to be postponed. She has had a wonderful idea for Phil’s present and Elizabeth agrees to go to the music shop in Felpersham to buy it.
Usha has a lot of preparatory work to do in support of her application for the Higher Court Advocacy exams. Richard is at a loose end and bemoaning the fact that they cannot do something together on his day off; he is encouraged to go to the pub!
Kathy gets a cool reception from Sid when she announces she has found a child minder for her teaching days; he accuses her of dumping Jamie on someone they don’t know. On the other hand Kathy feels she is being taken for granted when she learns she is expected to cook for the darts match. Later Sid apologises and announces a surprise: he has booked a table at the Mont Blanc to celebrate their anniversary. It would have worked too, were it not for the fact that he has arranged it one day early to avoid their busy Friday evening. Oh dear!
Sid tries in vain to interest Alistair and Richard in darts. They exchange notes on Shula who is giving Alistair cause for concern. Richard will have another word with her tomorrow.
Alistair tries to follow Richard’s advice and prise Shula from her bedside vigil for a little while but she will have none of it.
