Characters: Caroline, Clarrie, Eddie, Joe, Marjorie, Nigel
- Clarrie’s cheque for envelope stuffing is late, the driver delivering more work doesn’t have it and the accounts office fob her off with excuses and tell her to ring back next week.
- Joe’s concerned about getting bank references and farming testimonials. They’re sure people will stand up for them, but even they are worried about the potential content. They’re quite glad, though, that Nicholas Pine didn’t seem to like Graham Rider.
- Lynda’s worried about the peace quilt, especially the quality of the contribution from Hayley’s playgroup, but Marjorie berates her for this! Lynda promises that her peice will be a colourful centre in a sea of dullness!
- Nigel, while missing Lizzie, is spending time with Caroline, who visits Lower Loxley to suggest good potential photographs to show off the grounds to good effect.
