Characters: Eddie, Jennifer, Julia, Lynda, Nelson, Simon, Susan
- Jennifer’s had racy peice about Josiah Goodall printed in the Echo, to mainly favourable reviews, but to the disgust of Lynda: “appalled”, “disgraceful”, “dreadful”,”a case study in debauchery” and of “little poetic merit”. Although Jennifer claims that a “writer’s sensitivity” is needed. Simon spoke in favour and, apparently, “if you’ve lived here as long as Ai [Lynda] have” he’d have known what was wrong.
- Nelson is not heeding Julia’s advice on the menu – he’d rather keep Shane. She huffily accepts, although isn’t to be beaten.
- When Lynda attempts to tell her story to Eddie he asks if Goodall was a Cat and Fiddle man!
- Julia has found Nelson’s heels and he winds her up brilliantly; he had been lonely and drawn in by Larry, a man of theatrical persuasion, and her reaction seemed as through trans-vestitism would have been better! She was as appalled when Nigel’s involvement came out!
- Simon is interested to hear that Eddie is leasing his quota and is pleased that Susan is keeping a professional silence. He is amassing evidence for a tribunal hearing.
