Characters: Debbie, Jack, Jennifer, Kate, Neil, Susan
- Sid’s arranged a walk in the words which has drawn a good crowd, although it dragged on a little and Kathy’s Sunday lunches were a little overdone.
- Jennifer’s trying to talk to Kate about the birth, but Kate, while accusing her mother of not listening to her, seems to be doing a good job of not listening herself. She’s decided that Morwenna, a healer and herbalist, is all she needs, accusing her mother of being sordid when she mentions some of the practical needs, like plastic sheeting and pillows. Debbie promises to try and talk to her.
- Jack asks Susan if she wouldn’t mind having the interview put back a day because he’s playing golf on Tuesday. Neil’s agrees on her behalf but when she says that she was due to be taking Emma and friends ice skating on Wednesday, so Neil will have to do that now, his Bridge Farm committments are thrown out. After all, she claims to be the bread winner now, so when Jack is thoughtlessly arrogant to her, why shouldn’t she be mean to the one in the queue below her?
