Characters: Bert, David, Jill, Lizzie, Lynda, Phil, Ruth
- Lizzie suggests Bungee jumping (for the fete) to Jill, who’s curious although unsure of the village’s reaction!
- David has contacted the London agents who have received a “substantial” offer for much of the estate. He’s furious and has a real go at Phil, accusing him of “losing his bottle” and being a dinosaur and that his inaction has, now for a second time, cost Brookfield dear.
- Bert’s teas last week were, erm, reasonable (as doorsteps), but luckily Freda’s relented and normal cricket tea service will be resumed.
- Lizzie has succumbed and will play Tatania, suggesting to Lynda that maybe Lower Loxley would be a better venue for the production.
- Phil’s upset at David’s reaction, although Jill reminds him of his battles with his father. Everyone’s bemoaning the lost chances though. He starts to doubt his own judgement, but Jill corrects him on that score.
