Characters: Betty, Hayley, Jennifer, Kate, Morwenna, Pat, Tommy, Tony
- Bridge Farm is starting to get back to normal, preparations are well advanced for the stand at the Royal (with Hayley keen on her and Tommy dressing up as old time butchers). Tony’s not happy with the pipeline contractors’ fencing around their works – a combination of suggesting that any animals lost would need to be compensated for and that the boss has taken a shine to Hayley, assuming she’s Tony’s daughter, and that he wouldn’t want her to be worrying her little blonde head about the fence …..
- Jennifer is convinced that Morwenna is some sort of new-age white witch and is no good for her family (even Brian considers her “surprisingly attractive for someone fresh out of a wood”), although she admits that Kate is as relaxed as she’s ever been. Problems come to a head when friends of Kate’s (Shaz, Gaz and Moonflower) arrive to whisk her (and Morwenna) to Glastonbury for the weekend. Jennifer’s shocked, but not as surprised as when Morwenna recognises Hayley. It seems that she (in her previous incarnation as Maureen) trained as a (conventional) midwife with one of Hayley’s mother’s friends.
