Mike is concerned about the imminent release of Clive and seeks to incorporate everyone into sending him to Coventry and making sure he gets no attention from the village.
Tony and Pat still aren’t in agreement, he admits that he wouldn’t mind so much if it were a matter of principle, but he feels it’s getting petty now, although Usha, Richard and Mike all agree with his desire to buy the land outright.
Despite all that’s been said, the Penny Hassett folks come along for the single wicket competition – only as a wind up though. The competition gets under way with Hayley beating Neil! He gets some stick later from the rest of the team.
Shula talks with Usha about Simon’s forthcoming trial and is told that it all depends on whether Simon defends the charge as a one-off. In that case it would be his word against her’s and it would depend on who is more believeable and could get off. This spurs Shula into seeing that she hasn’t a choice. She has to make a statement.
