  • Jill’s very busy and starting to feel that she’s being taken for granted by Ruth and David, it’s not that she doesn’t want to spend time with Joshua, but some appreciation would be nice.
  • Pat’s decided to approach Brian to talk about the estate protesting at her concerns over their decision to allow the hunt to use Bridge Farm land – she’s worried about the image of an organic farm in this situation.
  • David’s being pulled from several sides, Brian and Debbie are concerned at his tardiness with his estate commitments and Ruth isn’t happy with the effect of a loss of routine on the cows.
  • Brian’s checking e-mail as Pat arrives to confront Brian. Later Debbie interrupts to say that, while opening an infrequently used barn, they seem to have stumbled on the hoarding place for the local burglars – Brian immediately suspects Kate’s “hippy” friends.
    (There may be more to this last segment because the sound of Ruth moaning to David and Pat talking to Brian were interlaced, which didn’t help clean understanding!)
