Kathy has already found a new job to apply for. Alan announces his engagement to Usha and opinions are mixed.

Radio Times: Opinions are divided at St Stephen’s.

Characters: Alan, Alice, Kathy, Kenton, Lynda, Neil, Susan

• Neil and Susan have been reading the Echo. Susan presses Kathy for how she feels about the Taylor conviction so she just walks out. She gets on better with Lynda and admits she has bought a copy for Claire.
• Alice tells Alan she is really pleased to hear that he and Usha are getting married. He is a bit nervous and asks her not to tell anyone about the engagement. Then Lynda appears and asks if anything interesting might happen at the AGM.
• Kathy has already found the option of another job running the catering at a local golf job. But she really isn’t sure. It’s turned up rather too quickly.
• Alan announces his engagement to Usha at the Church AGM. Susan is instantly hostile but Neil just thinks she should be happy for them. Especially now Neil is going to be a Church Warden. Susan struggles to be pleasant. When Susan announces to Kathy that the Alan and Usha are engaged, Kathy realises she has to move on from being associated with Taylor at Lower Loxley.
