MIke begins to come to terms with the idea of a baby.

Radio Times: Mike is in a thoughtful mood. Lilian offers advice.

Characters: Adam, Lilian, Matt, Mike, Pawel, Vicky

• Matt has had a bad time with the accountant. He doesn’t think he is getting the best out of their assets. They have one flat unlet and one large house with tenants on a long lease who aren’t paying enough – the Walters. Lilian tells him to worry about a tenant for the flat and not waste time on the Walters that he can’t do anything about. Later Lilian is horrified to find Matt has been around to the Walters to persuade them to move into the Hillside flat. It is quite inappropriate in a flat underneath Jazz and Harry.
• Mike goes with Vicky for her first scan and is distracted that he is twice as old as any of the fathers in the room.
• Pawel won’t leave Adam alone. Adam tries to make him realise that it is inappropriate especially since he is Pawel’s boss. Lilian comes across them together and is impressed with Pawel’s physique. But really she has come to see him to persuade him not to move away from Ambridge. Adam has a lot going on in Ambridge and there is no point moving away only to make Ian miserable.
• Mike is still very quiet after the scan. Vicky finds him sitting looking at the scan picture. He says it’s all real now he can see his son or daughter. He’d do anything to make Vicky happy. Vicky wants to tell everyone at Phoebe’s welcome home party but Mike still isn’t ready to let people know. And he certainly isn’t ready to start talking about names. Vicky is bursting to tell but Mike insists he wants to choose his moment.
