  • Tom is working all hours; he really needs someone to relieve him a bit with milking – Pip perhaps, though she has already said no. He is having to turn down an order for four dozen hampers because he just can’t fulfil it in time.
  • It’s a frustrating day for Brenda too: Matt has asked her to prepare a summary of work in progress on their various properties – he’s bending over backwards to keep Lilian informed – but she hasn’t got time to look at it. Matt is out already, discussing the requirements for Joyce’s new flat with the site manager doing the work. That’s very conscientious of him!
  • Emma is determined to be in court tomorrow when Keith is sentenced, so she clears it with Ruth that she can work on Wednesday instead. Ruth makes it clear that won’t insist on a month’s notice for Rickyard Cottage: Emma and Ed can move out whenever they are ready. They still haven’t told George.
  • When Lilian gets back, she spares enough time to receive Brenda’s summary; she takes it with her to lunch. Matt has also asked Brenda to prepare, for Lilian, a summary of all their current property deals; that will take most of the afternoon. Does Lilian have a message for Matt when he returns or calls? No she does not.
  • Next time Lilian returns home it is to find that Matt and James are watching a golf video together. Incredible! She just escapes Leonie in time to receive a clandestine phone call from Paul – what impeccable timing the man has. He’s thinking about her all the time; he’s missing her but he has a work crisis; he will ring towards the end of the week and arrange to meet up.
