Radio Times: Peggy strides out and Mike puts on a brave face.

  • Neil asks Mike to come for a drink. Vicky urges Mike to go, but he is worried about leaving her on her own. Brenda agrees to call round and keep an eye on her stepmother. Over their pint, Mike admits that he is very worried about the baby, and particularly about how Vicky will cope if she is very disabled. Neil reminds him about Christopher’s cleft palate, and how well that turned out. Mike and Vicky’s baby will be who she is, and they will support each other.
  • Peggy is greatly enjoying Whitby’s wind and waves, if not its Goths, while Lilian would prefer to be back at the hotel with a drink. Peggy insists on having fish and chips in a promenade shelter – the very spot where Jack proposed to her.
  • When Peggy comes to Lilian’s room before dinner, Lilian is still in the bathroom. A text message comes in, and Peggy wants to see who it is from. Firmly Lilian tells her it must be from Brenda.
  • Brenda and the ever-ebullient Vicky enjoy a cosy chat about names for the baby. Vicky thinks Bethany Claire will be the final choice.
