Tom supports Tony’s idea to get back into the milking. Lilian makes an excuse to be in London on Saturday night.
Radio Times: Matt steps into the breach and Tony makes a proposal.
Characters: Helen, Matt, Pat, Peggy, Tom, Tony- Peggy is surprised to find that Lilian isn’t around. But when Matt finds it’s just a light bulb changing he offers to go round. Matt does say he has found Lilian a bit odd since she came back from Whitby. Peggy doesn’t know why, she had a great time.
- Helen is interested in Tom’s ideas to serve breakfasts from his van outside Ambridge organics for farmhouse breakfast week. Should be a good start. Tony takes a moment to suggest he might take on a couple of morning milkings. Tom agrees but he’s not sure Pat will be so happy.
- Peggy starts a bit of an interrogation with Lilian over why she is late. She tells her that Matt thought she had been a bit odd. Lilian is astonished that Matt went round to change the light bulb. That was nice of him.
- Pat admits she feels so guilty about how the weight of the farm has landed on Tom’s shoulders. Helen says she does feel that Tom is beginning to feel the strain of the milking. But Pat seems convinced that Tom is delegating as much as Tony can cope with.
- Matt and Lilian have a chat but he makes her laugh and she admits she has been tired. Matt has some plans for the weekend but Lilian says she has plans to go down to London on Saturday to see a friend. She’ll make it up to him, she promises…..
