When David discovers Pip has been lying, she drives off at speed and crashes into Ruth on the tractor, wrecking her car.
Radio Times: David makes a discovery, while Tom is having a difficult time.
Characters: David, Neil, Pat, Pip, Ruth, Tom, Tony- Ruth is getting clothes ready for Pip’s placement interview. She still believes Pip was working in the library instead of heading off to London. David is more sceptical. Neil has turned up in the local paper as a crime fighter. David is amazed how modest he is being about it. Then when David is helping to empty Pip’s pockets for the wash he finds and underground ticket and a cinema ticket from London. So all that claiming she couldn’t help with the sheep because of all her work was just a pack of lies.
- Tom is still having a sign of it. Tony says they’ll have to stick by him. Pat isn’t sure there is much they can do.
- David has another go at Pip. How could she be so dishonest. Pip tries to defend herself. David isn’t having anything and it turns into a slanging match and Pip storms off in her car in tears and crashes into Ruth in the mixer wagon as she is reversing. After the initial panic that she is alright David continues to rant while Ruth tries to calm her down. David says it was entirely her fault while Ruth tries to say it was just an accident. David insists. If she hadn’t told those lies, none of this would have happened.
- Tom can’t focus on the sale of the cows. He’d leave the whole thing with Rodways. Tony and Pat agree they will deal with it instead.
