  • Fence repairs are top of David’s list, though he needs to make time for Jamie who wants funny anecdotes about Kenton. They can’t quite believe that Kenton is getting married but it feels right this time.
  • Darrell finally returns to The Stables; he says he saw doctor, but is evasive about the outcome. He had a call from Anna; after that he just walked, sleeping in the park. He had completely forgotten about collecting his tools. Shula’s suggestions of a bath followed by a sandwich are accepted, but he resists her help to look for a job.
  • There is a problem – a dog chasing ewes. Ruth gets there first and they manage to pull a few out of the river. Then Ruth goes looking for the culprit while David phones the police.
  • Neil has turned up trumps by taking Darrell to collect his tools. Darrell is full of confidence that he will get work now and full of admiration that Neil and Susan have been together for 30 years. He will sort himself out.
  • Jill has come to Brookfield for tea and brought cakes, on trial for the cookbook. The police won’t come out about the sheep worrying, just advise remaining vigilant. A couple with two dogs visited the shop today but Jill didn’t know what car they were driving. Rob Titchener came into the shop, so maybe he saw something. Jill thought it odd that he had been out with the hunt just after losing his stepfather but concludes that he wanted to put everyday troubles out of mind.
