Rob and Jess row about her plans for her party and whether they should move out of Ambridge.
Radio Times: Tom seeks advice, and Jess springs a surprise on Helen.
Characters: Helen, Jess, Kirsty, Peggy, Rob, Tom- Peggy is worried about Helen looking so tired. She says she is busy. Then Jess runs up with an invitation to her Getting to Know You party and then asks her if Ambridge Organics could deliver food for catering. Helen reluctantly agrees. Jess says it will be a big party after Jennifer suggested so many names. She does hope Helen will be able to come.
- Peggy finds Tom waiting for her at home. There is something he wants to discuss. He asks her if he should propose to Kirsty. Peggy tells him not to wait. If she’d said yes to Jack the first time they’d have had an extra 16 years together. She really regrets seeing Jack’s memories disappear. He should seize the moment. If he’s doing it properly, the ring should be a month’s salary and he should make sure it sparkles.
- Helen tells Kirsty that she wouldn’t mind Jess so much if she wasn’t playing happy families. Kirsty says that Jess is going to have the party regardless, Helen may as well take her money, and then all she needs do is say she can’t find a babysitter.
- Rob isn’t impressed to hear that Jess has asked Helen to cater the party, let alone that she has invited the whole village. He certainly didn’t agree to that. He thought they’d agreed to move. Jess says she wanted to stay in Ambridge and asks if he really wants her to cancel the party and Rob reluctantly admits it will have to go ahead.
- Lynda is late for the panto rehearsal. Tom complains that his part isn’t dramatic enough next to Kenton’s. But after Lynda still doesn’t turn up, they begin to rehearse on their own.
