Pat still has a mountain to climb before the inspection; will Clarrie’s mood lighten by the time of the party?
Radio Times: Eddie treats Clarrie, and Charlie surprises Adam.
Characters: Adam, Charlie, Clarrie, Eddie, Joe, Pat- Eddie treats his ferret Adele to a pedicure while Joe and he chat about the plans for Clarrie’s party on Thursday and birthday meal.
- Pat offers Clarrie an early finish so that she can be away and get ready for tonight. Clarrie is equally worried that it’s Pat’s problems with Tom and the farm inspection that should take precedence.
- Eddie is experimenting with a comb-over while getting ready for the meal. He tells Joe that Jolene will need to think seriously about reforming the band as the old base player doesn’t approve of their old music any more. Clarrie walks in and rushes off to have a shower, threatening Eddie that he must change his hair style before they leave. Joe must look after himself tonight.
- Adam is flagged down by Charlie who compliments him on his tilling. He asks to join Adam just to see how the machinery is working. Afterwards, Charlie admits to sharing a keen interest in cricket with Adam. Adam wonders if Charlie would enjoy the single wicket championship.
- After an enjoyable evening, Eddie can’t help but wonder if Clarrie has fully enjoyed herself. She says that of course she certainly has, but can’t help thinking that after sixty years of trying and struggling, she should have something more to look back on. Her life seems to have been rather short on achievement.
