Rob has plans for Ambridge Organics.

Radio Times: Father’s Day dawns at Bridge Farm, while PC Burns refuses to give up.

  • Because Jolene is tired, and presumably because she is not needed at Jaxx, Fallon mans the bar while the football is on. Tony comes in, sounding dejected, and soon he is followed by Harrison Burns, whose interest in Fallon continues undiminished. She tells him that she will be 29 on Thursday, and wonders what she has to show for nearly three decades on this planet.
  • Rob, Helen and Henry are going to Bridge Farm for lunch. Helen is sure that her parents are beginning to accept Rob now that they are engaged. She might be less sure if she were able to hear the conversation at Bridge Farm, where Rob’s arrival most certainly is not warmly anticipated.
  • A sad Tony checks his phone to see if Tom has remembered that today is Fathers’ Day. Unsurprisingly Tom has not remembered, or at least has done nothing about it. His spirits are lifted by a card made by Henry, until Rob tells Tony and Past about the card Henry made for him. Pat can barely manage a civil reply.
  • Rob patronises Tony, laughing at Bridge Farm’s antiquated methods and informing them that Berrow Farm will be showing animals at the Borchester Show this week. Rob then informs the owners of Ambridge Organics that he has decided Helen needs more help, so he will be recruiting someone to share the management. That person will, of course, be of a higher calibre than Kirsty. He will ring an agency on Monday. Starry eyed Helen tells her parents how wonderful Rob is. Oddly, Pat and Tony fail to share her opinion.
  • Helen remains convinced that her parents are warming to Rob. He is wonderful, their home is wonderful, their life is wonderful. Things just don’t get any better than this.
