Shula and Elizabeth both decide to take their money out of Brookfield. Tony doesn’t improve.
Radio Times: Shula and Elizabeth have news for David, and Helen is comforted.
Characters: David, Elizabeth, Helen, Ruth, Shula, Tom- Shula would like a word! Sounds ominous. Will she try to persuade David and Ruth not to sell to Justin Elliott? She will call after church.
- Tony’s doctors are disappointed that he is not improving more quickly. That’s the news that Tom (who now sounds remarkably like Charlie Thomas) took from his mum. Helen is relieved to have Tom home – whatever he sounds like. Collectively they worry that gran is not being kept fully in the picture.
- Shula is the first of David’s siblings to react. She wants to take her money out of Brookfield, if that’s alright with David and Ruth. The idea of a share in a family farm in Northumbria doesn’t appeal; she would have no emotional connection to it. She was taken aback that they were selling to Damara Capital but it will enable Shula to expand the stables.
- Shula’s next stop is Lower Loxley where she has been invited for lunch. Elizabeth has also decided to take her money out and was expected Shula to talk her out of it. What is Kenton thinking?
- Elizabeth loses no time in going to Brookfield and delivering the same message. It’s a bit of a shock but David and Ruth are content with her decision. Is Kenton going to turn up next?
- Tom is back among his pigs. Of course there were pigs in Canada but not these pigs. Helen is back from the hospital not having seen the improvement she was hoping for. Mum’s decision is not to pass this report on to Peggy today. They will wait and see what tomorrow brings.
