  • Burns Night at The Bull is going well and mine hosts are pleased to see Lilian among the patrons. She is still being evasive about Matt but brings joy to Kenton and Jolene by announcing that she is willing to sell her shares in the pub, when Kenton’s legacy comes through, of course. (If Kenton’s legacy comes through!) Jolene is suspicious about Lilian’s obvious urgency.
  • Lilian is impressed with Charlie’s kilt but when the chat turns to Matt, she slips away leaving Adam and Charlie to have an overdue conversation about their New Year’s Eve snog – outside. They agree it was a mistake, a consequence of too much to drink; Charlie hopes it will not spoil their friendship.
  • Eddie is keen to hear about David’s moving plans, in particular when he will lose his job as their part-time cow-man. The cost is staggering: just moving the cows will take ten truck-loads, plus all the equipment. Kenton is more interested in when the sale will go through and that depends on Justin Elliott’s willingness to let them stay on as tenants for three months or so. David hopes to meet him this week to discuss the idea.
  • Jolene probes whether Lilian really wants to sell her shares and the truth comes out: Matt has left her, for good, and has cleaned her out too. It’s a relief to share this; she doubts she will ever see him again.
