Rising waters threaten Brookfield Farm and Harrison organizes the village rescue.

Radio Times: It is karaoke night at the Bull, and Jazzer gets up to sing.

Characters: David, Eddie, Fallon, Harrison, Helen, Henry, Jazzer, Pip, Rob

• Eddie shows up to help David and Pip with the drains which are backing up into the barn. Eddie’s news is not good: The Am has risen above the banks.
• Everyone else is enjoying the novelty of the river flowing so high and taking pictures. Harrison is worried but no one else will listen to his concerns.
• Eddie goes down into the main drain in an effort to block it. With much coughing and sputtering, Eddie comes back up. He isn’t sure that he has plugged the leak completely. They just about have time to milk the herd before moving them to higher ground. David and Eddie move the Herefords while a nervous Pip stays behind alone to milk the others. Pip makes David promise to return as soon as he is able.
• Back in The Bull, Fallon is distressed because everyone seems to be leaving before the karaoke to fight the rising waters.
• David and Eddie have never known the waters to rise so fast. They think the new defences are to blame. The water can be stopped in places but it will burst through somewhere else. Eddie is worried about getting home across the swollen river and David says he will drop him back in the village.
• Harrison evacuates The Bull and spreads the word that volunteers are needed to shore up the places where the flooding is taking place and to help those who are elderly or infirm move to safer areas. Rob declares he won’t stay because he wants to make sure Helen gets home safely but Helen insists she and Henry will be fine. Rob is needed in the village. Meanwhile, Harrison asks David to use his rig in the rescue effort but Eddie argues David needs to get back to Pip. David decides to stay and help; he must do what he can. Poor Pip and her extracted promise of a quick return are forgotten.
