Adam and David blame themselves for not doing more. Pip and David reconcile.
Radio Times: Adam is not sure which way he should turn, while David is on his way.
Characters: Adam, Brian, Carol, Charlie, David, Jill, Neil, Pip- It’s the morning after all the drama and Adam gently wakes Charlie who has his foot in a makeshift splint. There is an emotional retelling of the events leading up to Adam’s saving of Charlie’s life.
- David makes his way to the church and finds Jill and Neil. He is greeted with great relief by all. Jill wants Carol to come back to the farm but she refuses. David tells Jill that it is just as well because they don’t know what they will find there.
- Adam makes excuses when Brian suggests he go home to stay with Ian. They find a field they thought would be dry but it is very wet. They begin to rescue sheep but there are many drowned ones because they have so much wool this time of year.
- David has a joyful reunion with Pip. Freda has had to go to hospital but everyone else is fine. Pip tells David that she and Tom figured a way to control the water in the parlour which saved the cows and milking hasn’t been interrupted. David says Joe was right: the farm was in safe hands with Pip.
- Adam is very distressed about the drowned sheep and lambs. Brian tells him it wasn’t his fault and that it was important that he saved Charlie. Adam blames himself for not doing more.
- David and Pip survey the damage and David becomes emotional. David reaches Ruth on the telephone and discovers she and Josh are well. David apologizes for not listening to Pip and she admits she never wanted to leave Brookfield. Brookfield is our home, declares David, and it always will be.
